Why It Matters 

Your gift helps OAK:

  • Put research-backed practices in farmers' hands. OAK delivers one-on-one consultations on everything from crop planning and cover crops to soil testing, high tunnel management and integrated crop-livestock systems. Last year alone, that support reached 45 counties through 50 on-farm visits and 68 remote consultations, plus Kentucky's first Mechanical Weed Control Field Day, which drew 100+ attendees from five states. 

  • Host farmer-to-farmer learning in the field. OAK's Field Days reached 335 participants across six counties in 2025, opening up working farms so growers can learn directly from one another.

  • Build markets for Kentucky-grown food. OAK’s Kentucky Farm Share Coalition works to increase healthy food access for Kentucky eaters and increase annual revenue for Kentucky farmers through workplace CSA programs. In 2025, more than 20,000 CSA boxes were distributed to over 1,000 households as part of the program, generating more than $750,000 in direct farm revenue.

  • Advocate for Kentucky farmers on the national stage. Your donation helps us support the growth of long-term, stable markets for Kentucky-grown organic foods. Last year, OAK represented Kentucky farmers in Washington, D.C., at the True Cost Accounting Global Summit in Rome, and at the Regenerative Food System Investment Forum in Minneapolis.

  • Guide farmers through organic transition. OAK's USDA Transition to Organic Partnership (TOPP) program has supported more than 200 Kentucky farmers with on-farm technical assistance, helped nine operations become certified organic in the past two years, and paired 28 mentors with mentees navigating the process together.

  • Support conservation on working land. OAK's Conservation Outreach program pairs one-on-one planning support with farmer-to-farmer learning, connecting Kentuckians to conservation practices for soil, water, plant diversity, wildlife and pollinators.
