Grow Appalachia and the Organic Association of Kentucky (OAK) are excited to announce a new partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) that will advance soil health, conservation and weather-resilient practices for Kentucky farmers and landowners through a Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).

This new project will bring more than $3.8 million into Kentucky, directly for farmers and landowners to adopt conservation practices that advance and support soil health. Through this project, OAK and Grow Appalachia staff will provide one-on-one technical assistance to farmers, including support for conservation planning, financial assistance applications and guidance on installing conservation practices.

The first annual application deadline for this project (RCPP SHURE) is Friday, April 17, 2026. Kentucky farmers or landowners must submit their applications through their local USDA NRCS office. This project offers cost-share financial incentives and technical assistance for implemented conservation practices similar to other NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIPopportunities and payment rates. Financial incentives are taxable income. Find your local NRCS office to talk with an NRCS agent, or send us an email at [email protected] to learn more.

We are proud to partner with Grow Appalachia to deliver this project for Kentucky farmers. This project is supported by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Regional Conservation Partnership Program. This partnership would not be possible without our partners at NRCS, who have worked tirelessly to get this project on the ground.
